Professional PB Manuscript Critiques

Writer friend,

Do you have a manuscript that annoyingly keeps getting rejected by editors or agents? Or a story that feels like it’s missing something but you just can’t quite put your finger on it? I would be happy to “put another pair of impartial eyes” on your beloved PB manuscript.

My caring, honest, and respectful line-by-line commentary focuses on what works and what still needs attention. We are often too close to our stories to see the small (and sometimes not-so-small) changes that could make all the difference to our stories. That said, my comments are just suggestions—your intuition as the creator of your story is always paramount.

Criteria:

• 300-600 word manuscripts (non-religious subject matter)
• Emailed to me in Word Doc format
• Double spaced
• Your very, very best version
• An open mind 😉
• Member of SCBWI (but not necessary)

What To Expect:

After contacting me and upon acceptance, I will direct you to email your manuscript. I will read through your manuscript three times before writing any commentary. I use comment boxes for line-by-line analysis when pertaining to the specifics. I will note where there needs punctuation corrections, show-don’t-tell, any syntax guidance, etc., but my main focus will be on how your story flows, basic story content, as well as suggestions that could make your story POP! Turn around time is usually two to three weeks out or TBD.

Fees:

• $75 for up to one page critique and a follow up email for Q&A (Payment is due the day I begin the critique process.)
